The process that I have seen that is most effective and I use with my clients in Business Design is defining three critical areas:

1. Purpose
2. Mission
3. Vision

The Purpose is your why? Why does your company exist? and why is it here? This purpose is guided by your organizational values. If your values do not align with your purpose then you do not believe in your purpose

It must also be lived out in your people. Every staff member must understand the purpose and know how to live it out in
their roles and behavior.

The Mission is Your How? How do you do what you do, how do you fulfill your purpose?

Your mission is is your guidepost and roadmap to delivery.
Organizations with strong missions do not meander, they have a focus and know how they will arrive at their goals

Your people must be enabled to live out the mission every staff member must understand the mission and be enabled
and equipped to contribute to the mission.

Your Vision is your where? Where do you want your organization to be?

Your vision is your destination. All organizations should know the short and long-term goals

Your people must also be aware of the vision. Every employee must understand the short and long-term vision of the organization and be given ample opportunity along the way to contribute.

Happy to discuss further if you believe it will be helpful.

I am assuming you have validated this with your target audience? That being said, I believe you will need at least 2x that much to build and market the application effectively. Crowd sourcing may be a route, but it will be combined with some boot strapping, personal savings and investment from your network as few investors will put anything in until you have an MVP.

I have worked remotely for the last 15 years, grown a company while doing so and now write on the topic for RingCentral - I would be delighted to speak to you and get an understanding of what information you are looking to find.

You ca do this for certain and agree with the other answer that you do not have to have the skills to create the product. If you are going to bring on a co-founder for the tech side, legal agreements can be to ensure both of you are protected.

You can also think about outsourcing the technical work to one of many companies who can architect and build out your product, meaning that you maintain ownership.

There is surely more than one way to approach, but do not give up on your concept due to a lack of technical skills.

Happy to discuss more if I can be of help to you.

There are most likely many answers to this question depending on the various situations. Having raised four teenagers, all adult and thriving, I would be happy to discuss further if you desire as without any other context, it is hard to answer the question.

I applaud your ambition to wanting to start something new and build it to make a living. Have started two digital marketing agencies before I can attest to some of the challenges and rewards. There are a few places you can look for education like MarketingProfs and Content Marketing World as well as eMarketer. Additionally, you will learn by doing and also recommend you get a mentor who can help you along the way. Best of luck in your journey and let me know if I can help in any other way.
